He did it again...

Anyone who knows me knows that I love movies and that I cry in a lot of them. I never cry reading a book though. Well that changed once I started reading Nicholas Sparks! The first book I read by Nichols Sparks was 'Message in a Bottle' and I cried my eyes out! Then I read his first book 'The Notebook' and shed plenty of tears. Then I think I read 'A Walk to Remember' and once again cried my eyes out. I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture.

The second book that I have read this year is 'Safe Haven' by Nicholas Sparks and you guessed it, I cried once more. I thought this book was going to be different. I was going to make it through without crying. I even got to the last chapter, maybe even the last 10 pages and never was close to shedding a tear...but then good old Nicholas Sparks got me with a very interesting twist. I also felt that 'Safe Haven' was different from his other books...a little suspenseful. I really enjoyed it. Following is a synopsis:

When a mysterious young woman named Katie appears in the small North Carolina town of Southport, her sudden arrival raises questions about her past. Beautiful yet self-effacing, Katie seems determined to avoid forming personal ties until a series of events draws her into two reluctant relationships: one with Alex, a widowed store owner with a kind heart and two young children; and another with her plainspoken single neighbor, Jo. Despite her reservations, Katie slowly begins to let down her guard, putting down roots in the close-knit community and becoming increasingly attached to Alex and his family.
