Why People Only Eat the Muffin Top

Yesterday we had a focus group meeting with our CEO on our company's strengths and muffins and juice were provided. Half way through the meeting, our CEO asked one of the girls why she only ate her muffin top. She gave her response and then he said, "Jen, why do people only eat their muffin tops?" Of course it was a rhetorical question and it was a comical relief moment, but I decided to email him a response. Here is what I sent him:

Here is why people only eat the muffin top:

The top is what comes off when you pull off your first bite, so logically it’s what you eat first. Then you get to thinking how much fat (21 grams) and calories (500) are in muffins and you start to reconsider eating that muffin. By the time your brain catches up with your mouth, the muffin top is gone! Then there is nothing left to do, but stop eating the muffin. This leaves you with a pathetic little muffin stump without a top and the decision of putting the muffin out of its misery by eating the before mentioned stump or putting it to rest in the useless rubbish receptacle. Most people choose the useless rubbish receptacle which may be a garbage can… or a co-worker… or a friend… or maybe even a spouse.

But seriously, my reason for eating only the muffin top is that the caramelized and crunchy top is the best part! And besides, who wants to eat the crumbly and dry bottom half?

What is your reason for eating only the muffin top?
