A New Day!

Slowly my family is entering the blogging world. I now have two sister-in-laws (Heidi and Whitney) that are bloggers. I enjoy checking their blogs once a week and thought it would be fun to have a blog of my own!

A couple of nights ago I was sitting in a movie theater with my friend Lesley waiting for Celine Dion’s “A New Day” concert to start. This is something some movie theaters are doing now…they have special engagement showings of concerts and even operas. I only wish they would start showing Broadway musicals! Anyway, I was sitting in the darkened theater, trying to avoid reading the screen I’ve seen five times while waiting for the show to start and thinking of things I could blog about. I thought I could blog about movies I’ve seen, books I’ve read, travels I’ve taken, projects I’ve done, people I’ve seen, things I’ve heard… and that’s when I realized there are a lot of things out there to blog about. I think I’m going to have fun with this!! So here goes my first blog.





Celine Dion’s “A New Day” concert was amazing! I only wish I had seen it in Las Vegas before she stopped doing it! I never saw it because it was so expensive. I only had to pay $13.50 to see it in the movie theater opposed to over a $100 for nose bleed seats in Vegas! Last weekend was her last night. She’d been doing the show for five years. Some of my favorite Celine Dion songs were sprinkled throughout the show. Songs like:

· The Power of Love
· It's All Coming Back to Me Now
· Because You Loved Me
· To Love You More
· My Heart Can Go On

Celine also did a tribute to Frank Sinatra with the songs All the Way and I’ve Got the World on a String (during which she is accompanied in part by an old video of Sinatra singing). There were half dozen other songs, but these were my favorite. If you're a huge Celine Dion fan or sad and disappointed you didn't see "A New Day" in Vegas or in the theater, it is available on DVD ($16.99 on Amazon) as of December 11th, 2007. So enjoy!
